Sharoon Saleem

Sharoon’s practice primarily focuses on Intellectual Property, and includes intellectual property litigation, patent portfolio management, patent prosecution and international disputes. Prior to joining Jones & Spross, PLLC, Sharoon worked for a boutique firm in Austin specializing in intellectual property law specifically in patent prosecution, patent litigation, and legal research in areas such as computer software, computer hardware, and medical devices. Prior to that, Sharoon worked at Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid where she gained experience in civil matters.

Prior to law school, Sharoon was involved extensively in health care research that included autism clinical research, human genetics, and healthcare technology. As a graduate student, Sharoon served as a liaison between the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) engineers and University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston- School of Health Information Sciences (now the School of Biomedical Informatics) for NASA’s Space Medical Agent Resource Technology project where she observed and evaluated software for NASA’s Biomedical Engineers (BME) and Flight Controller simulations at Mission Control.

Sharoon earned a B.S. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Houston, a M.S. in Health Informatics from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and a J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law. Sharoon is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is registered before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
